While finishing my film, I worked at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo. as an executive producer, overseeing nightly newscasts. I also produced content for E.W. Scripps' Newsy.
Before that, I was an investigative associate producer at WJLA-TV, the local ABC affiliate in D.C. I produced a weekly show and assisted investigative reporters with researching and packaging stories. I spent the run-up to the 2016 presidential election as a news associate in CNN's D.C. bureau. I witnessed election night from the main control room, field produced at Dulles International Airport after a stay was implemented on President Trump’s travel ban and assisted producers when James Comey testified in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee. I also spent time on the assignment desk, conducted research for the executive director of political programming and made graphics for Inside Politics with John King. |
Throughout my time at the University of Missouri, I worked at KOMU-TV producing newscasts and one-man-band reporting. I asked now former Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano questions after he lost his bid for reelection when I interned at WXYZ-TV. While at the Scripps Washington Bureau, I did extensive research combing through public documents and government databases — and helped produce a national investigative sweeps story.
The Missouri School of Journalism awarded me the David Kaplan Memorial Fellowship at the ABC News D.C. bureau and a $10,000 scholarship. After, ABC News gave me the opportunity to spend time in New York with the Brian Ross investigative unit. I helped that team during the Republican and Democratic National Committees, the Orlando shooting and the Nice attack. |
